Winds of Change
It is with immense regret that we announce Karen Crow’s leave of absence from midwifery. Although Karen will be stepping away from Steel City Midwives, Natalie will be continuing the homebirth practice that we love and grew together over the last three years.
Midwifery has been a blessing in Karen's life, through the relationships she's made and the knowledge she's been entrusted with by her former preceptors and clients. As the winds of change have begun to blow, Karen and Natalie have been lucky enough to witness the immense good will of the Western PA birth community. Karen may no longer be actively catching babies, but she will always be here to support our region's families and birthworkers.
Natalie will miss working side by side with her dear friend, but is excited to be welcoming another primary midwife into the Steel City Midwives family in the Fall of 2020! Combining their love for social justice with their love for holistic health, midwifery was the perfect fit for Delmar Bauta. After 20 years and over 800 births, Delmar is thrilled to be moving from South Florida to help provide safe, compassionate midwifery care that supports and empowers the whole person.
Steel City Midwives is grateful for all of the support and well wishes we've received from our clients, assistants, family and friends as we send Karen off on a new journey and continue our work providing Southwestern PA's premier out-of-hospital midwifery service. We have met our family maximum for this spring and summer, but are welcoming clients for the Fall of 2020!
